Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and grew up in a mixed-ethnic, multiracial family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as Sri Lankan. The father of Jacqueline is Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline is the youngest of two sisters and an older brother. The family have moved to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan civil unrest and hence she was raised in Bahrain. In Australia, she studied Media and Communications at University of Sydney after graduating from Bahrain. As a lover of all different cultures and languages, she took part in the Berlitz school of languages, in which she was able to learn Spanish and improve her French and Arabic. In 2006, she won the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work on television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone (the daughter of the badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone competed in a variety of National badminton competitions. However, she resigned from the sport when she decided to be a professional fashion model. Padukone has Mangalorean origins and speaks Konkani as her mother tongue. Padukone Village is situated within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka in India. Prakash Padukone's father is an international badminton champion who has now retired. The mother of the child is a traveling agent.
